Keegan's Third Annual Touch-A-Truck
Keegan Robert Langerfeld was born on October 10, 2020 and our world immediately changed for the better. From the very moment he entered this world, we fell completely head over heels in love with our bleach blonde, blue eyed, happy baby boy. Keegan was a sweet, lovable, adventurous, shy boy who immediately lit up every room he crawled in to. Every memory made was filled with joy, laughter, and so much love. On the morning of what would have been his first birthday party, October 16, 2021, Keegan passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep. To this day, we have no answer as to why Keegan is no longer with us, and his death has been declared as SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood). While we wish more than anything that he was still here with us, and we will spend the rest of our lives missing him, we will be just as thankful for the greatest 371 days we could have ever asked for.
Almost immediately after Keegan passed, we constantly thought about how he never got to have the birthday celebration every child deserves. We discussed long and hard about how we wanted to celebrate his next birthday, if at all, but we knew we needed to for our boy. After months of planning, Keegan's Touch-A-Truck came to light. Our first year of the event completely exceeded every expectation we ever had. A parent, who we had never met before, stopped me to say "thank you so much for bringing this event to our community and for teaching us all about SUDC. We will think of Keegan always". From the moment on, we knew this event needed to happen every year. Over the last two years we have raised almost $40,000! We are sure, once again, you will help us let Keegan know how much he is loved in this world, while also spreading awareness for this heartache so many SUDC families live everyday.
Please join us on Sunday, October 6th for Keegan's 3rd Annual Touch-a-Truck from 10:00AM-2:00PM to help wish Keegan a happy heavenly 4th birthday. There will be fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, construction vehicles, demonstrations, food trucks and more! It will be fun for the entire family!
All proceeds will go towards the SUDC Foundation and the Keegan Cares initiative at the Adalyn Rose Foundation.
We hope to see you there!
