Keegan Robert Langerfeld was born on October 10, 2020 and our world immediately changed for the better. From the very moment he entered this world, we fell completely head over heels in love with our bleach blonde, blue eyed, happy baby boy. Keegan was a sweet, lovable, adventurous, shy boy who immediately lit up every room he crawled in to. Every memory made was filled with joy, laughter, and so much love. On the morning of what would have been his first birthday party, October 16, 2021, Keegan passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep. To this day, we have no answer as to why Keegan is no longer with us, and his death has been declared as SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood). While we wish more than anything that he was still here with us, and we will spend the rest of our lives missing him, we will be just as thankful for the greatest 371 days we could have ever asked for.
Almost immediately after Keegan passed, we started grief counseling. I’ll never forget our first night without Keegan; Bobby looking at me with tears streaming down his face and saying “we can not let this destroy us”. From that moment on, we knew we needed immense help and support to survive this horrible tragedy. Just a few days after, we walked into the Center for Loss and Bereavement and both started grief counseling; something that would instill the skills we needed to express our deepest pain and heartache together. The process to get started was very effortless, due to the help of family, friends and co-workers. However, we know this is not the case for so many. With the help of the Adalyn Rose Foundation, we have worked hard to be able to provide other loss families in our area with the same support. Through events such as Keegan’s Touch-a-Truck and now The Keegan Classic Golf Outing, we are able to financially provide therapeutic services to those who need it the most.
We hope you can join us on May 31st at the Landis Creek Golf Club in Royersford, PA for a day of fun on the greens! After the outing, all players will be head back to the club house for lunch and raffles. All proceeds will go towards Keegan Cares at the Adalyn Rose Foundation.
Announcements will begin at 7:45AM.
